Credit Unions across the state are seeing more instances of call spoofing, text spamming and fraud.
We urge all of our members to learn about these scams and be on the defense against fraud. Watch out for:
• Unexpected phone calls about fraud on your account from a number that appears to be originating from our credit union, or another institution. This can be alarming. But our Credit Union will NEVER contact you by phone and ask you to share account information. • Don’t fall victim to these phone spoofing scams! Keep your personal information private. When in doubt, hang up and call us directly. • Suspicious text messages that seem out of the blue and include misspellings. Some may claim there has been fraud on your account, some ask if you made a recent purchase, and others ask you to confirm a shipment delivery by clicking links.
Do NOT click these links or reply to these types of messages. If you are EVER questioning the authenticity of a text, please call us directly to verify.
