Downeast Credit Union Named Best Credit Union in the Midcoast Region
We are proud to announce that we’ve been named the Best Credit Union in the Midcoast Region in the 2025 Times Record Best of the Midcoast awards. This community-driven contest highlights the very best of the region, with thousands of residents voting for their favorite local businesses across dozens of categories.
The award was presented at the Best of the Midcoast awards ceremony on September 25th at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. With more than 15,000 votes cast across industries including dining, banking, automotive, insurance, and more, Downeast Credit Union was honored to be recognized as the community’s choice for best credit union.

The Best of the Midcoast program is hosted annually by The Times Record to celebrate outstanding businesses and services in the region. This year’s contest highlighted the very best in dining, shopping, arts, entertainment, financial services, and more.
