Downeast Credit Union proudly recognized nine outstanding Team Members during its 84th Annual Meeting, introducing a new Awards Program designed to celebrate the dedication, leadership, and impact of employees across the organization.
What makes these awards especially meaningful is that recipients were nominated by their peers—fellow Team Members who see firsthand the effort, care, and commitment that go into serving members and communities every day.
“This program was created to shine a light on the incredible work happening across our organization,” said Trevor Gordon, Vice President of Human Resources. “These nominations come directly from the people who work alongside our recipients every day, making this recognition truly special.”
Award Recipients Include:
Operational Excellence Award Bridget Monk, Card Service Specialist, was recognized for her exceptional reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement. Her behind-the-scenes work ensures members receive accurate, efficient, and professional service while supporting the long-term sustainability of the Credit Union.
Janet Caskin Community Service Award Kaileigh Deacon, Calais Branch Manager, received this award honoring the legacy of longtime Team Member Janet Caskin. Kaileigh was recognized for her outstanding dedication to community involvement, leadership in local initiatives, and commitment to advancing financial education and outreach.
Donna Cochran Culture Award Tonia Lanier, Senior Vice President of Lending & Operations, was honored with an award created in memory of longtime Team Member Donna Cochran.
